As a crucial regulator of ABA signaling, ABSCISIC ACID-INSENSITIVE5 (ABI5) is involved in many aspects of plant growth and development, yet its regulation of anthocyanin biosynthesis has not been elucidated. In this study, we found that MdABI5, the apple homolog of Arabidopsis ABI5, positively regulated ABA-induced anthocyanin biosynthesis. ABA Insensitive 5 (ABI5) is a basic leucine zipper transcription factor that plays a key role in the regulation of seed germination and early seedling growth in the presence of ABA and abiotic stresses. ABI5 functions in the core ABA signaling, which is composed of PYR/PYL/RCAR receptors, PP2C phosp … 2019-03-01 · In turn, ABA promotes the binding of HY5 to ABI5, and transgenic plants overexpressing ABI5 display shorter hypocotyls, indicating that ABI5 enhances light responses. HY5 is a highly conserved central regulator of photo-morphogenesis [ 57 , 58 ] that acts downstream of phytochrome-A and UV RESISTANCE LOCUS8 photoreceptors [ 59 , 60 ].

The expression of ABI5 is upregulated by ABI3, and ABI3 itself can also directly regulate the expression of key negative regulators involved in the seed-to-seedling transition 42. These results

Recent investigations have unravelled the importance of light–ABA interactions in postgermination development and environmental adaptability of seedlings. The transgenic 35S:ABI5‐Flag line was constructed in this study (Fig. S5). CoIP assays revealed that the ABI5‐Flag could be precipitated by JAZ3‐GFP in the double transgenic 35S:JAZ3‐GFP/35S:ABI5‐Flag seedlings, suggesting that JAZ3 interacts with ABI5 in vivo (Fig.

The abi5 mutant (SALK_013163; Zheng et al., 2012) was obtained from the ABRC, and the T‐DNA insertion is approximately 1 kb upstream of the ABI5 transcription start site. qRT‐PCR analyses showed that the transcription levels of ABI5 and RAV1 were markedly decreased in the RAV1‐U abi5 double mutant (Figure S6).

Abstract [sv].

This paper presents evidence that the SUMO E3 ligase SIZ1 negatively regulates abscisic acid (ABA) signaling, which is dependent on the bZIP transcripton factor ABI5. Loss-of-function T ABI5 is the best-studied key molecule in the ABA signaling pathway with respect to PTMs; therefore, this review could serve as a model to guide post-translational studies of important regulators ABI5 participates in ABA-regulated gene expression during seed development and subsequent vegetative stage by acting as the major mediator of ABA represssion of growth. It binds to the embryo specification element and the ABA-responsive element (ABRE) of the Dc3 gene promoter and to the ABRE of the Em1 and Em6 genes promoters.

Abi5 review

ABI5 is the best-studied key molecule in the ABA signaling pathway with respect to PTMs; therefore, this review could serve as a model to guide post-translational studies of important regulators in other plant hormone signaling pathways. As a crucial regulator of ABA signaling, ABSCISIC ACID-INSENSITIVE5 (ABI5) is involved in many aspects of plant growth and development, yet its regulation of anthocyanin biosynthesis has not been elucidated.

Consistently, med16 and med25 mutants displayed opposite phenotypes in ABA response, cuticle permeability, and differential ABI5‐mediated EM1 and EM6 expression. To functionally analyze the involvement of BIN2 phosphorylation sites in ABI5 activity, we fused the mutant protein ABI5 S41A T35A S36A with HA tag, designated as the HA-ABI5 mutant, and introduced the mutant protein into the abi5-1 background under its native promoter (abi5-1/HA-ABI5 mutant). Fig. 5D shows that abi5-4/35S∷ABI5 transgenic lines expressing intermediate ABI5 levels also displayed an intermediate phenotype in the presence of ABA. The preservation of our genetic resources and production of high-quality seeds depends on their ability to remain viable and vigorous during storage. In a quantitative trait locus analysis on seed longevity in Medicago truncatula , we identified the bZIP transcription factor ABSCISIC ACID INSENSITIVE5 (ABI5). 2016-01-04 · The partial recovery of keg by abi5 indicated that KEG may have substrates other than ABI5 (Liu and Stone, 2010). In fact, KEG also interacts directly with ABF1 and ABF3, and mediates their ubiquitination and degradation by the proteasome (Chen et al., 2013). Similar to abi5, loss of ABF1 and ABF3 partially rescued the keg phenotype after ABA 2021-03-06 · Encodes a member of the basic leucine zipper transcription factor family, involved in ABA signalling during seed maturation and germination.
